The evil one turns people away from God through false doctrine. Recent generations of Christians have NOT been grounded deeply in the Bible, and so are susceptible to losing their “mooring”. Importance of Christology (for starters) but awareness of trends in evangelicalism can be touched on here. While modern heresies are different from old ones, the need to be Biblically grounded is crucial! (We will NOT be adjusting our doctrine as a church)
